Subject: Jumped in the UK.

I've finally jumped in the UK. I went out to Target Skysports at Hibaldstow again this afternoon. I was a bit nervous about jumping at a new DZ but everyone there seemed really friendly and before I knew it I was on a load going up to 15,000ft.

I was feeling nervous but the main emotion I was feeling was excitement. I think there were ten people on the load: a four-way; a three-way and three solo jumpers. I was last out but one. As soon as it was my turn to get to the door I just felt amazingly relaxed and comfortable. I sat in the door, looked down and did a dive exit. I rolled over and saw the plane (I hadn't actually meant to roll over) and then got stable. I did handle checks and then did a couple of 360 turns. Then I did a backloop and then some more 360s. It was fantastic to be back in the sky again.

I only did the one jump as it started to snow not long after I'd got down. I did buy a block of ten jump tickets (used one today) so I'm looking forward to getting out there and using the tickets up as soon as I can. I'm really excited about having jumped again. It probably wasn't the best or most exciting jump I've ever done, but it was my first jump in the UK and it seems like a big thing to me to have finally jumped here.

So, that's jump 103. Hopefully, as we move into spring and then summer, I'll start jumping more regularly. I'll keep the site updated with my jump numbers (right at the bottom of the Home Page if you haven't noticed them already) and I'll post news stories as anything particularly interesting happens.

Cheers, Ian.
